Michael has been acting and writing (poetry, songs, short stories, screenplays, etc) since he was 13 and took acting classes all throughout high school in addition to participating in a federal govt. funded program called "On Target" where he co-wrote and starred in several anti drug/alcohol PSA's and a travelling stage production titled "You'd Better Think. He went on to do numerous other projects, most notably "The Green Mile" and "The Last Castle" and also had a supporting role as a hired assassin in the Nashville indie martial arts film "The Lost Dragon" where he also served as asst. fight choreographer. He began his martial arts training at the age of 7 and has trained in numerous styles such as Jeet Kune Do (founded by Bruce Lee), Taekwondo, Capoeria, Kungfu, Muey Thai, Ninjitsu, Boxing, grappling, and various weapons including knife, escrima stick, sword, boe staff, nunchaka, extendable/retractable baton, and shurikens. He also began writing songs and singing w/local R&B group Unique Soul in 2001, and has performed at numerous venues w/them, most notably being the featured performers for the Democratic Convention of 2002, and opening up for professional recording artists Angie Stone and Anthony Hamilton at the historic Ryman Auditorium. In addition to these accomplishments, Michael also has poetry featured in 3 national publications and a fourth will be released later this year. He is a proud husband and father w/a philosophy to live life in a quadratic manner, meaning to live life by developing the proper harmony and balance between the four basic principles of our daily living: GOD, Family, Career, and Recreation.
